Since our establishment we have been operating 20 community centres (CCs), of which 6 are located in the city of Yerevan, and 14 are based in regional areas.
At Community Centres, Mission Armenia provides leisure activities for the elderly population and persons with disabilities (the beneficiaries). They can play games, listen to music, watch TV, read newspapers, exchange views and share their concerns.
The beneficiaries can participate in various cultural and self-help groups, events and meetings organised with representatives from different external organisations.
At given centres, the elderly and persons with disabilities also receive nutrition services – hot meal once per day, five days a week with a 2-3-course menu and a beverage, as well as legal services – provision of legal advice, counselling and consulting services on a variety of issues the beneficiaries have, support redress the violated rights and entitlements of beneficiaries, etc. and psychological services.
Along with other activities, Mission Armenia initiates actions that help create a positive image of ageing and older persons presenting elderlies as teachers, transmitters of knowledge, culture, traditions and spiritual values, advocates and voices for dignified aging, equal and protected rights, improvement of social services provision system in Armenia, as well as for empowered and well-educated youngsters and well-being in communities throughout these years.
